Here is an interesting tidbit I found on a science website:

Minor Solar Power Impacts

A solar-powered parking meter, such as one you might find in Washington, D.C., requires no fuel, and it releases no toxins into the environment.

When companies create photovoltaic wafers that go into solar cells, the production process generates hazardous material.

Workers must manage it carefully to prevent environmental and health problems.

When some solar cells break, they become hazardous waste and must also be handled with caution.

NOW, here are my thoughts.

If the science industry is willing to admit that even solar powered parking meters contain hazardous material and will contain hazardous waste at the end of it's lifecycle, how in the good name of humanity can they condone the use of billions of solar panels all across the globe?
