300 acre solar farm covers more then 1,000 acres

Post by FTW »

The following article is an example of lies and corruption involving the solar industry and the media.

While this article spouts a 300 acre solar farm, the documents presented elsewhere claim in excess of 1,000 acres will be fenced in for use as an industrial solar plant located on Agriculturally Zoned Land.

This document also states First Solar will be building the project, but fails to point out the First Solar had to pay a fine to the SEC for defrauding and hiding facts from the shareholders, relating to faulty solar panels.

Links to the statements made above will be posted on this forum, in the near future.

Vectren Receives Approval for New Solar Farm

EVANSVILLE - Evansville-based Vectren Energy Delivery of Indiana has received approval from the Indiana Utility Regulatory Commission to build a 50-megawatt universal solar array in Spencer County.

The solar farm will be approximately 300 acres and will house nearly 150,000 solar panels.

The company says the approval is one step toward Vectren’s carbon reduction plan of lowering carbon emissions by 60% over 2005 levels by 2024.
“We are pleased to receive authorization from the IURC as the final step in the process to adding more solar electric generation to our portfolio,” said Lynnae Wilson, chief business officer of Indiana electric in a news release. “This significant renewable resource, a key piece of Vectren’s Smart Energy Future vision, will be among the largest single-sited solar farms in the state and will serve Vectren customers for decades to come.”
The solar farm is slated to be up and running in the fall of 2020 and will have the capability to generate enough power to support more than 12,000 households per year.

Construction for the solar farm is expected to begin later this year.

First Solar, a global provider of comprehensive photovoltaic solar systems, will build the solar farm.

First Solar, the company that is reported to have built the solar project in Troy Indiana, was sued for hiding information from investors for years, relating to the solar panels failing, in order to allow the owner to sell most of his shares of the company for over $400 million.

They were also fined by the SEC for violations involving other high ranking parties within the company.

We will post that report as soon as we obtain the link, but in the meantime, here is the pdf file for the Arizona lawsuit.
