Enso Energy: Bramford Solar Farm

Post by samzfairyz »

Enso Energy have recently proposed a new 98 hectare solar farm that would surround a countryside village of Flowton. The site area is split into two areas, a north and south area. There is a track between the two to the west of the village. It was larger and would have had an east area too. So we really would have been fully encircled. But they removed the east portion (only for EDF to come in a few weeks later proposing another east portion but that's another story).

You can read more about their proposal (and see us challenging them during a public webinar) here: https://www.ensoenergy.co.uk/proposed-p ... /bramford/

A local group have come together and under the name of CARE Suffolk are opposing this (and the EDF proposal too). http://www.caresuffolk.org/ Please follow us if you can.

One of the things we are trying to do is help the public visualise what this would be like. For example the maximum height of the solar panels will be 3m off the ground. So we created a visual that is to scale, and shows two adults of average UK height (Office of National Statistics) between the solar panels. This has changed the mind of one solar farm supporter alone.
